Of all the slow planets, Jupiter is the only one that gets to lap the zodiac several times in a lifetime. It takes twelve years, so it crosses your sign six or seven times if you live long enough.
It is also the easiest to follow: one year per sign, one after another.
Where it is and when it reaches you
Jupiter changes sign roughly once a year. It entered Leo on June 30, 2026 and stays there until July 26, 2027, when it moves into Virgo. Then Libra, Scorpio and onward.
To know when it comes back to yours, the sum is simple: every twelve years. And there is a finer personal date, the Jupiter return: the moment it comes back to the exact degree it held when you were born. It happens around ages 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 and 72.
Those ages tend to coincide with periods of opening: leaving home, starting a career, changing city, beginning again after something. Not always happy years, but almost always years when something grows.
What Jupiter does, without overselling
Jupiter's reputation is that of the luck planet, and that reputation overstates.
What Jupiter does is enlarge whatever it touches. If it touches ground where you were working well, it amplifies that and looks a lot like luck. If it touches ground where you were overdoing it, it amplifies that too, and then it looks like nothing of the sort.
Which is why the same transit can bring an enormous opportunity and an enormous expense. Jupiter does not discriminate: it enlarges.
A Jupiter year is not an easy year
Worth saying, because most of what circulates promises the opposite. A good Jupiter transit usually brings more of what was there: more work, more people, more commitments, more travel. That is good and it is also tiring.
And it tends to come with optimism, which is useful for starting and dangerous for estimating. A lot of the commitments that weigh later were signed in a Jupiter year.
Where it shows: the house
As with every transit, the concrete part comes from the house it crosses, not the sign. Jupiter in your seventh house expands one-to-one bonds; in the second, income and spending; in the ninth, study and distance.

And a warning about expectations
Jupiter is not the most important planet of your year either. It is the most pleasant to read, but the three slow ones weigh far more: Jupiter sets the weather, Saturn and the outer planets set the structure.
A year with Jupiter in your favour and Pluto on your Sun is not an easy year. It is a hard year with better tools.
